Project Overview

The following project has been approved by the management of Iron Mountain for their building located on West Grand and Mandela in Oakland. This project will allow for the largest outdoor art gallery in Oakland, featuring Oakland artists as the main attraction.

This project will not only provide synergy for artists and businesses, it will provide an important non-profit, Dragon School, a way to help fund their investment in youth and communities via their art program. Dragon School is an Oakland, CA based organization.

Vogue TDK

The first panel has already been created a little while back by the famous Vogue, an Oakland and Bay Area original. This panel was the template for a limited edition spray paint which features this design as the label. This panel was produced by Fuming Guerilla (FGP) Productions which is a production advisor for the Landmark Project.

Panel Assignment

Artists will be sponsored by a business to produce an original artwork on a panel approximately 20' high by 14' wide. Each business sponsoring will cover the cost of paint, lift and some artist pay in exchange for their name associated with the project and credit in all media. More importantly, the artist will donate half of their pay to support Dragon School.

Process

Designs will be submitted and approved by Local Edition MKTG, a creative agency. Local Edition will also serve as curator and facilitator handling logistics and assisting with the media as well as vetting artists and collaborators. Our goal is a broad mixture of designs that range from graffiti inspired to traditional muralist work that represent Oakland.
